Condux Break-Away Swivel | 150–1800 lb Range | Fiber & Coax Cable Pulling — Product Overview

Condux Break-Away Swivels help protect fiber optic and coaxial cable during pulling operations. Each swivel is designed to separate at ±10% of its rated break load. If the pulling load exceeds the selected rating, the internal break pin fractures and the swivel separates to help prevent damage to the cable.

Available configurations cover break loads from 150 to 1,800 lb (667 to 8,006 N) in 5/8-inch and 7/8-inch swivel sizes. Select the swivel diameter and break-load rating required for the application.

Key Features

  • Cable Protection: Designed to separate when the pulling load exceeds the rated break-load range.
  • Controlled Break Point: Internal break pin fractures at ±10% of the nominal break-load rating.
  • Multiple Load Ratings: Available from 150 to 1,800 lb (667 to 8,006 N).
  • Two Swivel Sizes: Choose from 5/8-inch (16 mm) and 7/8-inch (22 mm) configurations.
  • Application: Designed for fiber optic and coaxial cable pulling.
  • Replaceable Break Pins: Match replacement pins to the swivel size, break-load rating, and swivel part number.

How the Break-Away Swivel Works

During cable pulling, the swivel transfers the pulling force while helping isolate the cable from excessive load. If the force exceeds the selected break-load rating, the internal break pin fractures and allows the swivel to separate. The correct swivel must be selected according to the cable, pulling equipment, and required break-load rating.
