MDS Enclosure | MicroDuct Distribution System | Wall & Ladder Rack Mount
MDS Enclosure β Product Overview
The MDS (MicroDuct Distribution System) Enclosure is a wall- or ladder-rack-mounted distribution enclosure built for MicroDuct cable routing in indoor enterprise, data center and DAS applications. It handles the splicing and distribution of a microduct system inside one box β eliminating extra parts and cutting the wall space needed to break out individual ducts.
Termination, Pass-Through or Breakout
The MDS manages all forms of duct up to 2.50" OD and can be deployed as a termination point, a pass-through, or a breakout box for routing large-count cables into an OCEF. Six 2.50" ports handle cable and duct entry, and express ports on each side of the front rectangular slots take 12.7/10 and 8.5/6 bulkheads. The rectangular front ports accept an industry-standard LGX 118 adapter plate or cassette, and the enclosure accepts splice trays.
Scalable and Field-Configurable
Deploy a single unit or stack and attach enclosures back to back for larger jobs. Six "L"-type plate mounting slots let you configure the box to the job β swap a blank plate for an 8.5mm or 12.7mm position plate as the duct count grows. Dura-Line publishes a maximum plate count per enclosure that varies by plate style β three 2.50" cable-opening plates, six 8-position 8.5mm plates, or three L-type 6-position 8.5mm plates β so check the limit for the plate you need before ordering. The unique angular design allows gentle sweeps, which protects fiber blowing performance.
Mounting and Construction
Mounts to a wall or to an overhead ladder rack in 12", 18" or 24" widths using the stand-off bracket pair. Powder-coated steel construction, with captive/non-captive openings and front knock-outs for single bulkhead adapters. For outside-plant use it can be housed in a NEMA 6P closure.
