The MDS (MicroDuct Distribution System) Enclosure is a versatile solution designed to optimize the routing, distribution, and termination of both air-blown fiber and traditional fiber optic cables. This wall or ladder-rack mounted enclosure is engineered specifically for MicroDuct cable management, making it ideal for indoor enterprise applications, data centers, and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) environments. Whether for small or large installations, the MDS enclosure is scalable, customizable, and built to support multiple cables or ducts, offering unmatched flexibility and organization.

Innovative Design for Fiber and MicroDuct Management

The MDS Enclosure revolutionizes microduct and fiber optic cable splicing by consolidating distribution into one enclosure. Its unique angular design allows for gentle fiber sweeps, ensuring optimal airflow and cable blowing for improved installation efficiency. With its capacity to manage ducts up to 2.50 inches in outer diameter (OD), the MDS is capable of handling various types of fiber and ducts with ease. By reducing the need for additional parts, this enclosure streamlines cable routing and splicing, eliminating clutter and saving valuable space in your installations.

Scalability and Versatility

Whether your project is large or small, the MDS enclosure is built to scale. It can be used as a standalone unit for smaller setups or deployed in larger projects by stacking and attaching units back-to-back. The MDS is not just limited to microducts; it can also function as a termination point, a pass-through, or a breakout box, allowing large count cables to route into Optical Cross-Connect Enclosures (OCEF). This versatility makes the MDS enclosure an excellent choice for complex network infrastructure builds.

Mounting Options and Compatibility

Designed for maximum flexibility, the MDS Enclosure can be mounted on walls or overhead ladder racks in three different sizes—12", 18", and 24". This range of mounting options provides users with more control over how and where to install the enclosure, depending on the project’s requirements. In addition, the MDS is compatible with industry-standard LGX 118 adapter plates or cassettes, which fit easily into the rectangular front ports, making integration with existing systems seamless.

Durable Construction and Adaptability

Crafted from powder-coated steel, the MDS Enclosure offers long-lasting durability, even in demanding environments. The enclosure also features captive/non-captive openings with front knockouts designed for single bulkhead adapters, enabling easy expansion as needed. Express ports on each side of the front rectangular slots accommodate 12.7/10 and 8.5/6 bulkheads, and additional laterals can be added when the plates are fully occupied. For outdoor or harsher environments, the MDS can be housed in a NEMA 6P closure, ensuring protection against water and dust in outdoor installations.
