Heavy Duty Groove-End Transition Fittings provide a robust, pressure-rated mechanical connection between HDPE pipe and grooved-end piping systems. Built from ASTM A106/A53 Schedule 40 carbon steel with an internally and externally epoxy-coated transition collar, these fittings are engineered for demanding municipal, industrial, and energy applications.
Each fitting features an internally machined and beveled groove design that allows it to operate at the full MAOP of the connected HDPE pipe (SDR 7, 9, or 11). The HDPE extension runs completely through the steel collar, delivering uninterrupted corrosion protection, a piggable internal bore, and a pipe restraint rating capable of withstanding thermal expansion stresses.
Manufactured in accordance with ASTM D3261, ASTM F1598, ASTM F1599, AWWA C901/C906, and NSF/ANSI/CAN-61 & 372, these fittings fuse directly to PE3408/PE4710/PE100 HDPE pipe and meet ASTM D2513 Category 3 mechanical joint requirements (not for natural gas service).
